The Library of the Planning & Development Department has established as a “Special Library “in 1976-77. As a Special Library, the Planning and Development’s Library is specialized in a particular subject or group of subject or a particular form of documents and it exists to serve the parent body i.e. Planning and Development as well as other Development Departments.

The main objectives of the Planning and Development Library are :

  • To provide information service which enables the employees of organization to keep in touch with the significant development in the field of planning and development, economic and other aspects covering the entire Government.

  • To search literature and to bring relevant information to the readers.

  • To provide inspiration to the users by means of a balanced collection of good service facilities.

  • To provide information as and when asked for the users.

The Library, Planning and Development Department has to fulfill all the services of the modern library of country such as references, lending of books etc., facilities of preserving documents and information, cataloguing etc according to the needs of the readers as well as the authority concern.

At present, the Planning and Development Library has total stock of 5000 to 6000 books, journals, reports, news paper etc.Books are kept in the steel almirah according to serial numbers and reports are kept according to the subject.
